Wow
So sorry for the super long break!
but I swear I have been doing something productive if you count replanting coriander over and over again because those blasted cute furry possums can't get enough of the sweet taste then yes...  I have been productive.
but also these are a few other projects i've been doing.

1. last night I made paella that turned out pretty good it wasn't rubbish so I have to say for my first attempt I didn't throw it in the bin YAY no bin = success

2. I had my exhibition "OUT OF NOTHING" hung and viewed at brew!!!
and what a delicious night it was! despite having the pasties all night from talking to all the wonderful souls that came I got to dance a little dance with skilly at the end when everyone had left... (and we were suppose to go to)

The cool cats at brew were a dream and so amazing on the night esp Kate who helped me with so many things like hanging and Press releases and stuff! ahhh

I have sold 9 already! completely chuffed and honoured to have my pieces in peoples home or sheds or wherever they choose to put them but all in all I'm ectastic.
I have sold my favourite piece and usually when a piece close to my heart gets sold its bitter sweet... more sweet than bitter I mean its all pretty juicy

So the travel gods have rained upon me again and this time sending me to japan.
oooo its been a while since i have set foot on foreign lands and this excitement should be bottled up and sold to people who are just not having the greatest monday work day.

so even though we won't be in Sakura season... and most of the festivals have past we will be going to see some old friends attend their wedding and explore this country that everyone raves about
not to mention the art... drool

I will post piccies upon my return and with that maybe learn a few things or 5.

ICE-CREAM

I have always wondered why some days I get the need to slump my cabus on the acquired couch apparatus in the living room and not leave until the 4th rerun of BBC docos turn to insects and the way they form clans...
and some other moments where I get so itchy and need to do 45 different things in a space of 42 seconds  that works out to be about 1 movement a second which in theory does work and sends my mind into a hungry state...

this month was option 1.

not by choice but those BBC docos are just so good. but alas the insects have come on and sent me packing.
I am now back into exhibition mode and the need to please myself by making smiley stuff.

so in saying all this.
(there is a moment of point)

I looked through my old work for inspiration
and came across ye old ice-cream exhibition I did some time ago en barcelona
I always liked painting and drawing ice-cream its so colourful and tasty and extra tasty if you get to eat a juicy fruit after.

Wow its been a while
a long while.
what have I been doing. little things here and there and basically and mainly and chainly on my house
We moved into a cute pad in Bardon that has a view of the mountain which if you put your trusty headphones on you can block out the main road truck hustle and it feels just like you are in the mountains ahhhh

so my illustrations have taken a little breakiolo
but crafty items have been on the top of the agenda.

I do enjoy the sensation of rain and in all honestly was delighted to stay in and cuddle and watch the truman show.
so the slopping of paint has been postponed until the rain has stopped which toes crossed is this weekend

Have you seen them those electricity boxes around town I know I look at them for long periods of time cause they ooze charm with those big blue colours. and boxy shape.

Usually I post drawings and rants about how much I miss Jamon serrano ( its getting out of control )

but Today I'm not going to do that. no no no

So a bit of background to my post today.
its a long weekend tomorrow which means that I have 2 whole days outside my regular 2 day weekend to dedicate to URBNE and art project.

I have all the things that are necessary in completing well starting my task... chocolate (it is easter) a full head of ideas tea and coffee at my disposal, 4 cello cases and a whole day!! I haven't had a whole day for art since I was 27 and that was last year even though I told someone the other day I was 27 and was caught out by that person, replying... umm no your not. forgetting my age is something that I never thought would happen... well not since I was 5 and a half...  when did half ages stop....
....

okay. so in excitement, perfilation and buzz... I found these lovely spots where I will imagine myself to be painting and cutting things about listening to Junip and birds and eating chocolate... or Jamon serrano...

So... I live in brisbane... good ol brisbane the big country town" brisvegas. B-hole... those were some of the names coined by many and used by me in the year of me leaving. I must admit I wasn't impressed with my home town Wait let me rephrase that I wasn't impressed with it. yes yes not at all...
I couldn't fathom spending my days in this city, willowing down to south bank for a "night market" that ended at 9pm... and rules... whats with the rules relax brisbane...  but since leaving and returning i have to say Its charmed me like a old man charms his dry cleaning lady with his pressed whites...
slow and when she's venerable BAM he's leaving with her number and a date at Southbank...

So thats where URBNE comes in or the point of my ranty ways.

I am getting involved with URBNE a great project created by my good friend Brooke and some other creative cats... we had an ideas meeting on thursday and needless to say I had many a little too many which caused me to have a overwhelmed brain and a parched mouth.
me and lou are forming to create some art and slopping it into spaces around brisbane that most of us never see or never venture into...

im super super super... excited... *star jumps*

its that time again.
I have decided to shake my office manner and get back into creation station

naturally the first thing that came to my brain was... popsicle...

So I thought I would post something new to show that I have been organised despite some bags still not been unpacked and my cravings for jamon serrano hightened to a new level where I will do anything to have a taste... of that sweet cured meat.

Okay

It's not that bad. I had my Catalan brekkie the other day where I DID pick up the serrano from woolies and had some turkish bread and smeeered tomato on it to form the infamous 'pan con tomate'
but it's just not quite the same sitting on a quiet verandah watching the trees swing from side to side, Don't get me wrong thats where I am most at peace in nature... but I miss the hussle of the old man bars in Barcelona... loooong *sigh*

In the meantime to save my sanity or lack of, I have taken a trip down 4 month memory lane. (I guess when i'm 50 memory lane will be now so I have to save up a few good ones) of my exhibitions in barcelona...

its been almost 2 months (well im not really too sure as I havent looked at my last post in a long time)
lets say 2 month for effect and pinash wow 2 months from my last post.. geezus sirmano where have you been. I could make up a really amazing story about how I was on a 2 month drawing binge where I was getting creatively busy with my paper and pen.

But alas its been  2 months filled with enjoying my time off with my boy and fam. xmas was amazing and the clouds were hiding like a lady bug around kids... those pretty bugs always get the long end of the pretty bug stick

But now I'm back... back with a new fridge of food and a energy even kevin bacon would tut about...
