Blank Canvas

This morning I woke up to heavy rain! ahhh so lovely so I dose back to sleep with my cat biting my leg to wake me up. then the alarm went off! NOOO
I'm really happy that its getting colder, even though the sweat and stickiness I felt through most minutes of summer this year have been so delightful I am ready for leggings and jumpers and being ever so cold. (I'm sure this feeling will last only about 3 days)

So in other news, Blank canvas is on for its 3rd year in a row.

TUESDAY SKETCHDAY

Usually on Tuesday nights I would go to yoga. Or at least try to muster up the energy for it.
but this Tuesday was just 2 days after my pretty epic sydney weekend, Where my best friend of 20+ years turned 30! oh my body isnt what it used to be....
But in memory of youth as I soon will journey into the 30s
I decided to stay home from yoga and sketch a panda... and an owl... i'm not sure who is more worthy of top sketch spot! i'll let you decide

FACTORY DIARIES

I just arrived back from an early flight from sydney hanging out with my best friend for her 30th!
she had a fort picnic/party in the park with lanterns and vodka.
What makes my monday a little bit more bearable this morning is an interview that the lovely ladies at Factory Diaries made about me =)

So after many weeks sketch prep, I had 2 days to myself in a lovely incense smelling, yoga studio in Rosalie to paint a super colourful, lotus flower mural. I really enjoyed this paint! I guess its because I can never get enough of colour. COLOUR!

MURAL FUN TIMES

I'm back from a super gorgeous holiday in Bali with friends for the big 30
lots of Bintang, sun, laughs, and sweaty yoga sessions
Alas I have come early but its all fun times here too because
I'm straight back into painting which is super
Better than a torturous excursion to a chemical plant I say.

MURALS AND SORE BACKS

Ah so tis the season for bright colours and murals! I was lucky enough to be commissioned by 2 pretty cool places one that serves food and the other that sells health! (a yoga studio)

Frog n Toad in Milton is the cutest little coffee shop it reminds me of when I was a child
and the local shop down the road that sold just about everything you needed to last the day
food, coffee, chocolates, sweets. (although my addiction to coffee didn't start that early or did it)
I spent 3 weekends on this lovely piece and am super happy to have it shown on such a lovely place
the owners Fotini and John and just the sweetest souls around.
and they gave me sweets which was welcomed...

The monday after Frog n Toad completion and my granny back was getting into shape.
I got a request for another mural this time at a yoga studio YAY
this is although just the finishing sketch stages I am so pumped to see this on the wall

CASES FOR ALL THINGS THAT MAKE CALLS

So I have been a busy bee
and also a lazy bee with internet connection I think I should just choose one outlet to post things on.
It was just here and faceybook. but not I have discovered the world of instagram! AHHH what is happening to me

So since I did a phone case for the gorgeous EV-e Eva
I have had a flood of orders! FUN!

they are super fun to do and hopefully bring a little cheer into their new homes

DELIGHTFUL YEAR

So I don't believe in new years resolutions.
why?
cause I don't keep them and also the start of the year is the worst time to begin new things. you are on holidays you have to go back to work! you are all hungover from months before...
why not get that stuff started through the year or at the end.
I don't know why i'm even talking about this because this year... I made my myself a mini one...
to get my self sorted and sell my prints, be more involved in my art and just be more free!
doesn't seem so bad does it...

Oh and cook and travel more (which is always on the list)

This year has already started off with a mighty delightfulness.
I am in the middle of creating a mural. an album cover for mammals, some illustrations for prints and an iPhone case for my friend EVA...

so here are some sketches that I have been pondering along and soon will be added with the sweet signs of colour and available to buy whoosh!

BREW

Wow
So sorry for the super long break!
but I swear I have been doing something productive if you count replanting coriander over and over again because those blasted cute furry possums can't get enough of the sweet taste then yes...  I have been productive.
but also these are a few other projects i've been doing.

1. last night I made paella that turned out pretty good it wasn't rubbish so I have to say for my first attempt I didn't throw it in the bin YAY no bin = success

2. I had my exhibition "OUT OF NOTHING" hung and viewed at brew!!!
and what a delicious night it was! despite having the pasties all night from talking to all the wonderful souls that came I got to dance a little dance with skilly at the end when everyone had left... (and we were suppose to go to)

The cool cats at brew were a dream and so amazing on the night esp Kate who helped me with so many things like hanging and Press releases and stuff! ahhh

I have sold 9 already! completely chuffed and honoured to have my pieces in peoples home or sheds or wherever they choose to put them but all in all I'm ectastic.
I have sold my favourite piece and usually when a piece close to my heart gets sold its bitter sweet... more sweet than bitter I mean its all pretty juicy
